How long does a commercial air conditioning system last?

A well-maintained commercial system typically has a working life of ten to fifteen years. The key word is maintained — systems that receive annual servicing consistently outperform and outlast those that are left to run without attention. We've seen systems that were installed over a decade ago still performing reliably because they've been properly looked after, and systems only a few years old that have deteriorated significantly through neglect.

Should I run the system continuously or switch it off overnight?

Most modern commercial systems are most efficiently managed with programmable controls or smart scheduling rather than left running around the clock. Running a system continuously when premises are unoccupied wastes energy unnecessarily. We can advise on the best control strategy for your specific premises and usage patterns during the site survey.

How often should a commercial system be serviced?

Once a year as a minimum for most commercial installations. Businesses that operate their systems for extended hours — hospitality venues, medical practices, or any premises with near-continuous operation — benefit from twice-yearly servicing, which keeps the system at peak efficiency and significantly reduces the risk of mid-season breakdowns.

Can installation be carried out outside of business hours?

Yes. We're happy to work around your schedule — including evenings and weekends — where a daytime installation would cause unacceptable disruption. This is something we discuss and agree during the site survey stage, so there are no surprises on the day.
