It’s easy to assume that because your air conditioning unit appears to be working, it’s working well. In reality, performance can decline gradually and almost imperceptibly — and the cause is often straightforward.
As an air conditioning unit draws air across its internal components, dust, debris and microscopic particles accumulate on the coils, filters and fan blades. Even a modest build-up acts as an insulating layer that makes heat transfer less efficient, forcing the system to consume more energy to achieve the same output. Left unaddressed, this puts mechanical strain on the compressor and motor — the most costly components to replace.
Also a neglected unit can harbour bacteria, mould spores and allergens within its internal components, circulating them around the room every time it runs.

A thorough service covers cleaning of all internal components including filters, coils, and drainage, a full mechanical inspection, refrigerant checks in line with F-Gas regulations, and testing of all electrical controls and sensors. Our engineer will also carry out a general health check of the unit and flag any areas of concern.
Once a year is the standard recommendation for most domestic and light commercial systems. Units that run for extended periods — for example, in a busy office or hospitality environment — may benefit from more frequent attention. We’re happy to advise based on your specific setup.
Pricing depends on the type and size of your system. A standard split service (one indoor unit, one outdoor unit) starts from £90 plus VAT. We’ll always confirm the cost upfront before booking.
It is not advisable to attempt to work on an air conditioning unit without the proper knowledge and equipment. Furthermore, F-Gas certification is required when working with appliances such as AC units.
